Online artist blog numero cuatro

Deboarh Aschheim
Deborah Aschhheim was a guest speaker who came into one of my classes one time. Her presentation made me want to know more, so I thought I would look her up on the internet. She explores the idea of Neural Architecture in her exhibitions where she uses materials like baby monitors, heat and motion sensors, and clear tubing all to link things and memories together. Her installations accommodate the human body with the invisible worlds of microscopic biology, all within the physical and social space of architecture and mapping. She also makes these drawings where she links memories and ideas together. Her memories or things are represented with a blob of color while being connected with simple lines to another memory. I like to think of it as a cognitive map, where she maps all of these people, ideas and memories together. Her work blurs the lines between body and machine.
